How We Deliver Your New Crown with One Visit
We rely on CAD-CAM design to plan and design your crow. This involves taking digital impressions of your teeth that allow our dentist to plan and design your crown in specialized software.
Once Dr. Doan has completed the design, we send it to a 3-D digital printer that mills your crown out of a block of ceramic. When the crown’s finished, we check it for quality, then cement it securely to your tooth. The entire process takes a little over two hours, and you walk out with a brand new
Why We Recommend Dental Crowns
A dental crown is also referred to as a tooth cap because it covers and surrounds the entire tooth down to the gum line.
Some cases where our dentist might recommend a crown are:
- Protect a broken or fractured tooth
- Restore a cavity that’s too large for a filling
- Improve the appearance of a tooth for aesthetics reasons
- Restore function to a dental implant
- Restore as part of dental bridgework
A dental crown gives new life to a damaged tooth in function and appearance. Dr. Doan will design your crown to match the shape and shade of surrounding teeth for a natural appearance. And Since the crown provides a layer of protection for your tooth, you’ll be able to chew on it comfortably again.
Dental Bridges Replace Missing Teeth
You have many options when it comes to tooth replacement. While dental implants are the gold standard to replace missing teeth, many people aren’t good candidates. In this case, Dr. Doan recommends a dental bridge to complete your smile.
A dental bridge replaces a missing tooth with a restoration that consists of three pieces: an artificial tooth suspended between two dental crowns. The crowns are then secured to healthy teeth on either side of the gap, and the result is a replacement tooth that blends beautifully with your smile and restores comfortable chewing function.

CEREC Same-Visit Crowns and Bridges Technology
CEREC Same-Visit Crowns, Bridges, and Veneers
CEREC is a technology we use at our Jacksonville dental office to minimize the time needed to get dental restorations like crowns, bridges, and veneers. CEREC is the acronym for Chairside Economical Reconstruction of Esthetic Ceramics. This rather long description means that you can now have a dental restoration completed and placed on your tooth within hours, instead of the typical 2-3 weeks needed for a lab crown.
CEREC uses CAD/CAM technology and digital impressions to deliver a 3-D image of your teeth to the specialized software. Dr. Doan completes the design process within the software, which gives her complete control over the processes, which is not always possible at a dental lab. When the design is finalized, we send the file to highly specialized 3-D fabrication equipment in our office that mills your crown, bridge, or veneer out of a block of porcelain while you wait.
With CEREC, there’s no two-week wait, no multiple visits or injections, and no messy, goopy impressions!
