Dr. Kim Doan
Dr. Kim Doan has called Jacksonville her home for over 20 years. She attended the University of North Florida, graduating with a 4.0 and a bachelor’s degree in biology. She earned her DMD from the NOVA Southeastern University College of Dentistry in 2015, graduating in the top 5 of her class. While in dental school, she participated in multiple volunteering events such as Give Kids a Smile, Light the Night Leukemia Walk, Habitat for Humanity, and many others.
To stay on top of advancements in the field of dentistry, Dr. Doan annually completes many hours of continuing education and training. Among notable continuing educations that she has completed are the prestigious Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine Implant AAID Maxicourse, Utah Maxicourse for Implants, CEREC CAD-CAM technology, Invisalign, and she will be able to provide IV sedation soon.
Dr. Doan is immensely passionate about her patients and keeping the old tradition of the “family dentist.” Her goal is to provide individualized care while offering knowledge, comfort, and clinical techniques of today’s modern dentistry.
Dr. Doan and her husband have two sons. A five-year-old son named Grant and a two-year-old named Gabriel, who are their pride and joy. Dr. Doan spends her free time with family and enjoys exercising, traveling, cooking, and going to the movies.
Dawn
Dental Hygienist
Dawn is a long-time member of our dental team who has been with our practice since 1996. She is a graduate of Florida State College at Jacksonville and has been working in the dental field since 1987.
Dawn loves helping patients achieve their best smiles by providing exceptional dental services. Over her many years at Sandpiper Dental, Dawn has developed friendly, long-lasting relationships with her patients. She always enjoys catching up with them and what’s happening in their lives when she sees them several times a year.
A native of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Dawn enjoys running and exercising regularly. She also stays busy with her mini Labradoodle and visiting her three grown sons, who all live in different areas of the country.
Demeeka
Dental Assistant
Demeeka has been with Dr. Doan since 2005. She loves her role in helping patients achieve their best smiles. Outside of dentistry, Demeeka love traveling, spending time with family, and enjoying Jacksonville's beautiful outdoors.
Carlie
Front Office
Carlie joined the Sandpiper Dental team in 2020. Hers is one of the first faces patients see when she greets them at the front desk.
Her duties include scheduling and handling patient appointments, dental charting and treatment planning, and completing and filing insurance forms and dental billing records. Carlie’s favorite part of her job is seeing a happy patient leave our office with a brand new smile.
Outside of dentistry, Carlie is an artist who has a super green thumb.
Amy
Front Office
Amy became interested in dental assisting in 1991 when she was motivated by a friend who was starting in the dental field. She is a native of Jacksonville and received her assistant training at Concorde Career Institute.
As part of our amazing front office team, Amy answers phones, makes appointments, handles insurance and billing, treatment planning, and makes sure our patient leaves us with a smile. She enjoys getting to know our patients and building their trust and confidence, so they know we are really there for them. We have some fantastic patients!
In her free time, Amy loves being with family and friends and spending time at the pool and beach. Go Jaguars!
Khoa
Front Office
Khoa grew up in Jacksonville, Fl. He attended high school here at Duncan U. Fletcher, graduating in 2001. He then went on to graduate from the University of North Florida with a degree in Biology.
Khoa enjoys cooking, brewing coffee, photography, and traveling.
